Job Overview

This role is critical in leading the commercial and sales functions of Dusit Gastro, driving business growth through strategic planning, customer acquisition, channel development, and product innovation. The Assistant Director will play a key leadership role in aligning sales and sourcing strategies to deliver profitable growth and long-term market leadership.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

Sales Leadership

  • Sales Strategy & Target Achievement: Lead the sales team to exceed turnover targets and optimize net profit, with a focus on key B2B channels and new customer acquisition.
  • Key Account Development: Drive long-term growth plans for strategic customers through detailed business planning, performance reviews, and innovation opportunities.
  • Sales Pipeline Management: Build a robust sales pipeline through market mapping, lead generation, and effective conversion strategies.
  • Forecasting & Budgeting: Oversee monthly sales forecasts, validate order planning, and ensure alignment with budget expectations.
  • Team Development: Mentor and coach, the sales team to enhance their capabilities, foster accountability, and ensure consistent performance.

Commercial & Product Development

  • Sourcing Strategy: Lead the sourcing of new products and categories aligned with market trends, customer demand, and brand positioning.
  • Product Innovation: Work closely with cross-functional teams (R&D, marketing, operations) to develop and launch innovative, customer-centric products tailored for different sales channels.
  • Vendor Management: Build and manage strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate favorable terms, and ensure reliability and quality standards.
  • Category Management: Analyze performance of key SKUs and categories to optimize assortment, pricing, and promotional strategies.
  • Margin Management: Monitor and improve gross margin by balancing product cost, pricing, and channel strategy.

Market & Commercial Insight

  • Channel Expansion: Identify and unlock new channels, including retail, wholesale, and food service to diversify revenue streams.
  • Market Leadership: Stay ahead of market and competitor trends to ensure Dusit Gastro remains at the forefront in innovation, distribution, and service delivery.
  • Consumer Insight & Brand Performance: Utilize data and insights to guide business decisions, SKU rationalization, and growth initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in business administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in commercial management, sales, or a similar role, preferably in the gastro or related industry.
  • Strong understanding of market dynamics and distribution trends.
  • Excellent strategic planning and management skills.
  • Strong analytical abilities and experience with consumer insights.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.

Accountabilities

  • Protect and expand Port Royal Factorys existing customer portfolio while unlocking new revenue streams.
  • Deliver sustainable growth and profitability for the B2B bakery division.
  • Build and lead a capable team that reflects the companys values of quality, innovation, and trust.
  • Work in close collaboration with Dusit Foods and Dusit Gastro teams to ensure strategic alignment and operational synergy.
  • Position Port Royal Factory as a market leader and preferred B2B partner in bakery.
