Job Overview

The Area Manager will oversee and manage multiple bakery retail outlets within a designated area to ensure operational excellence, achieve sales targets, and deliver an exceptional customer experience. This role requires strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills to align store operations with Bonjours business goals and brand values.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily operations of assigned bakery outlets to ensure consistency and efficiency.
  • Monitor compliance with company policies, operational standards, and food safety regulations.
  • Identify and address operational challenges to maintain smooth store performance.
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate store managers and their teams to achieve individual and collective goals.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching to enhance skills and performance.
  • Facilitate training programs to ensure employees uphold Bonjours quality and service standards.
  • Analyze sales performance and customer feedback across stores to identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve sales targets and maximize profitability.
  • Work with store managers to optimize inventory levels, reduce waste, and control costs.
  • Ensure a consistent and exceptional customer experience across all outlets.
  • Address customer complaints or escalations promptly and professionally.
  • Promote initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction and brand loyalty.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on store performance, sales metrics, and operational updates to senior management.
  • Serve as a communication bridge between the corporate office and store teams to ensure alignment of goals and directives.
  • Conduct regular store visits and audits to ensure compliance with health, safety, and operational standards.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of new store openings within the assigned area.
  • Coordinate promotional activities and ensure their successful implementation at the store level.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in retail operations management, preferably in the food or bakery industry.
  • Proven track record in managing multiple retail outlets or locations.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to inspire and drive performance.
  • Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Knowledge of inventory management, sales forecasting, and food safety standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel frequently within the assigned area.
